The Brazilian National Petroleum Agency (ANP) expects next year to begin offering a clutch of exploration blocks auctioned in previous rounds, as part of a new government policy to make acreage available on an ongoing basis to give more dynamics to the country’s oil and gas sector.

Approved last month by the Brazilian National Council for Energy Policy (CNPE), the initiative gives the ANP autonomy over licensing of onshore and offshore blocks that were not acquired by oil companies.
